Users can turn off automatic membership renewal - no unexpected credit card bills! However, you will sometimes find that the auto-renewal has been unexpected switched "on". A bug in the programme? In any case, you have to keep an eye on it.

Search criteria isn't very good with basic or free membership. The criteria are simply: age, race, country, distance, photo. Any search will result in lots of profiles.

There are, however, thousands of profiles for all tastes. This is one of the best things about AFF - huge numbers of people. Some profiles are turned off - these are people who want no more contacts. Others are set to autoreply and yet others aren't people but businesses. Neverthless, there are still tons of people here.

Occasionally you'll find that you can't search, or there'll be a problem posting members. These bugs can be irritating, but customer service is fast and the problems last a day at most. Still - its a day of wasted membership.

Each profile can carry up to 5 pictures. Many are pornographic.

Message size is unrestricted, and you can post photos too.

There are anti-spam measures on site, but it is unclear how secure and private any onsite emailing is.
